Farm Aid Concert Returns to Wisconsin in 2019
USAgNet - 07/10/2019

For the first time since 2010, the annual Farm Aid music and food festival will be held in America's Dairyland this fall. Co-founder Willie Nelson announced that the event will be held September 21 at Alpine Valley Music Theatre in East Troy.

This year's performances include Nelson, John Mellencamp, Neil Young and Dave Matthews with Tim Reynolds, as well as Bonnie Raitt, Nathaniel Rateliff & The Night Sweats, Margo Price, Jamey Johnson, Tanya Tucker, Brothers Osborne, Lukas Nelson & Promise of the Real, Yola, and Particle Kid.

"With devastating weather, low prices and harmful farm and trade policies, America's family farmers are facing immense challenges to hold on to their farms," Nelson said. "By bringing our festival to the heart of the struggle, we will stand side by side with farmers."

Nelson, Mellencamp and Young organized the first Farm Aid concert in 1985 to raise awareness about the loss of family farms and to raise funds to keep farm families on their land. During its run, Farm Aid has raised millions of dollars to promote a strong and resilient family farm system of agriculture.

The concert was last held in Wisconsin nine years ago at Miller Park.
