U.S. Tractor Sales Fell in February, Combines Were Up

According to the Association of Equipment Manufacturer's monthly "Flash Report," the sale of all tractors in the U.S. in February 2018, were down 10% compared to the same month last year.

For the two months in 2018, a total of 10,486 tractors were sold which compares to 11,630 sold thru February 2017 representing a 10% decrease for the year, reports Agri Marketing magazine.

Two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) were down 12% from last year, while 40 & under 100 HP were down 2%. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP were down 20%, while 4-wheel drive tractors were up 9%.

For the year, two-wheel drive smaller tractors (under 40 HP) are down 4% over last year, while 40 & under 100 HP are even. Sales of 2-wheel drive 100+ HP are down 11%, while 4-wheel drive tractors are up 15%.

Combine sales are up 34% for the month. Sales of combines for the year total 481 compared to 393 in 2017.
