Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/21/2018
The Golden Angels Investors group has selected 15 emerging companies from across the country and around the world to present their ideas to potential investors at the 2018 AgTech Venture Day.
The event is slated for October 2 at the Comfort Suites Hotel & Conference Center in Johnson Creek. Organizers say the day-long forum will bring together companies in fields such as precision farming, food packaging, food safety, organics, resource
conservation and other disruptive technologies. Selected applicants will get to bring their concepts to angel investors and venture capitalists. Two-dozen companies will be chosen to present their ideas.
Presenting companies include Farm Dog, Israel; Native Traits, Kalamazoo, Mich.; PhylloTech, Middleton; Cellulose Sciences, Madison; ShadeHaven, Viroqua; Skyx, Israel; Aker, Winnebago, Minn.; Rantizo, Iowa City, Iowa; Novihum, Germany; Cambridge
Crops, Cambridge, Mass.; Augean Robotics, Phoenixville, Pa.; Nanopore Diagnotics, St. Louis, Mo.; AmebaGone, Madison; EIO Diagnostics, Canada; and Vence, San Diego, Calif.
Meanwhile, there will also be a morning panel discussion on AgTech Investing in 2018 led by Chris Prestigiacomo, private markets portfolio manager for SWIB and feature seasoned investors in the sector. An afternoon discussion on success stories for ag-tech
entrepreneurs will also be featured.
