Wisconsin FFA Ends Membership Year at 30-Year High
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/29/2014

There was a greater number of Wisconsin high school students who joined their local FFA program during the past school year. State FFA President Alison Wedig told Wisconsin Ag Connection that FFA membership for 2013-14 was at 19,191 members in 251 chapters.

"We are on a 30 year membership high which we hope continues this coming year," Wedig said. "Seeing the organization grow is tremendous because that means more and more students are being given a well rounded education throughout classroom learning, hands on projects, leadership, and service. FFA provides students with great foundations for successful futures and has stayed relevant throughout its long history."

Wedig, who is from the Darlington FFA Chapter, said the state is following the same trend as the national FFA, which announced last week reached an all-time high membership of 610,240 students.

The Texas FFA added more members than any other state during the past school year, with 8,364 new members. California, with 76,470 members, is the country's second-largest FFA association.
