WFBF Backing Grothman in 6th Congressional Race
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 09/29/2014

The Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation has endorsed Glenn Grothman for Wisconsin's 6th Congressional District race in the November 4 general election. That's the seat being vacated by retiring GOP Rep. Tom Petri.

"Glenn Grothman is supportive of trade and economic development, and understands the economic importance of farming to Wisconsin," said WFBF Governmental Director Paul Zimmerman.

Prior to the August primary election, each candidate for the sixth congressional seat participated in a forum organized by Farm Bureau members from throughout the district. Zimmerman says the Farm Bureau's board chose to endorse Grothman based on his support of agricultural issues as a member of the Wisconsin Assembly and Senate.

"As a state legislator, Glenn Grothman has been very supportive of use value assessment of farmland and was the lead author in phasing out income taxes on farm income," Zimmerman said. "He also regularly attends county Farm Bureau meetings to stay in touch with local farmers and agricultural issues important to them."

Wisconsin's 6th Congressional District includes all or portions of Adams, Dodge, Fond du Lac, Green Lake, Jefferson, Manitowoc, Marquette, Sheboygan, Waushara and Winnebago counties.
