Evers to Consider Bill to Legalize Kids' Lemonade Stands
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/11/2019

Even though most of Wisconsin's youngest entrepreneurs don't realize it, running a lemonade stand in the front yard is technically against the law if not regulated. But that could soon change under a bill that passed in the Assembly on Thursday.

The measure allows minors to run lemonade stands on private property without a permit. Sales of such products would be limited to $2,000 per year. However, kids would be barred from selling any potentially hazardous food, such as raw meat and egg salad.

A spokesperson from Governor Tony Evers' office says he plans to sign the legislation.
