Cover Crop Field Day Slated for October 8 in Arlington
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/01/2014

Farmers, crop consultants and all those interested are invited to attend a Cover Crop Field Day at UW Arlington Agricultural Research Station next week.

The October 8 meeting will cover crop research conducted by University of Wisconsin-Extension and UW-Madison throughout Wisconsin.

Organizers say cover crops can be used effectively to reduce soil erosion, reduce the need for herbicides and other pesticides, protect water quality by limiting nitrogen leaching, and increase soil organic matter.

Registration is $10 in advance and $15 for day-of registration and includes all printed materials, refreshments and lunch. To register in advance, call the UW-Extension Dane County office at 608-224-3700.
