Passenger Killed in Vehicle vs. Tractor Accident
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/17/2017

One person is dead after the vehicle she was traveling in struck a farm tractor on a roadway and lost control in central Wisconsin.

According to the Clark County Sheriff's Department, an SUV being driven by Jacob Person of Stanley was traveling behind the tractor when he attempted to pass. That's when Person struck the tractor's tire and rolled several times, ejecting Tasha Ley, a passenger in the vehicle. Both were taken to an area hospital, where Ley, also from Stanley, was pronounced dead. The driver of the tractor was not injured.

The accident happened Friday morning in the town of Hixon, near Withee.

Alcohol and speed were factors in the mishap. Reports say Person was released from the hospital, but deputies are now recommending charges be filed against him for operating a vehicle while suspended causing death, as well as homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle. There has also been a warrant issued for his arrest.
