LaCrosse Tribune Endorses Reps. Nerison, Vruwink
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/29/2014

The editorial board of the LaCrosse Tribune is giving its support to two incumbent Assembly representatives running for re-election. The newspaper is endorsing Democrat Amy Sue Vruwink of Milladore in the 70th district and Republican Lee Nerison, Westby, of the 96h district. Both lawmakers are leaders of their respective parties on the Assembly Agriculture Committee.

The paper said both districts are currently represented by legislators with agricultural backgrounds; and each have challengers with agricultural backgrounds, as well.

"Voters in both districts are fortunate to have qualified and thoughtful candidates who are willing to serve," the paper said in an editorial this week. "With all the discord and rancor that seems to dominate politics today, it's refreshing to see men and women who believe that public service can be honorable. While we were impressed by both challengers, our endorsement goes to incumbents Vruwink and Nerison."

The 70th is a rematch of 2012 between Vruwink and challenger Nancy VanderMeer of Tomah. In the 96th, Nerison faces Pete Flesch from Soldiers Grove.
