NFMC to Study Allergy Trends of Farm Kids
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 10/31/2014

The National Farm Medicine Center at Marshfield Clinic is in the process of looking for pregnant women on Wisconsin farms to participate in a asthma and allergy study.

Researchers are hoping to find about 100 expectant mothers so they can track their children's susceptibility to allergies and respiratory infections from birth to two years of age.

Among the things researchers are looking for is whether microbes on farms with livestock can stimulate stronger immune systems.

The NFMC will work with the University of Wisconsin's asthma and allergy research center to conduct the study.
