Moll Appointed DATCP Deputy Secretary, Lyon Moves to DOR
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/14/2017

Wisconsin's new agriculture secretary wasted no time finding her number-two person. On Monday, Sheila Harsdorf used part of her first day on the job to announce that Keeley Moll will become her deputy secretary. Moll, who served as the agency's legislative and policy advisor since 1997, will be responsible for handling internal operations at DATCP.

"I know many within the department, legislature and agricultural industry recognize and respect the work Keeley has done throughout her career," said Harsdorf. "Her in-depth knowledge of the agency's responsibilities and policies will make her invaluable to our continued success at DATCP."

During her time at the department, Moll was part of major policy efforts including farmland preservation, livestock siting and animal health. She was also instrumental in setting up the state's Do Not Call list.

"I am humbled by the opportunity to serve as DATCP's Deputy Secretary," said Moll. "I look forward to working with Secretary Harsdorf and agency staff to continue the great work already being done, responding to the needs of Wisconsin's consumers, businesses and agricultural industry."

Moll earned her degree in political science from the University of Wisconsin-Eau Claire. Before joining DATCP, she was a staff member for then-Rep. Ben Brancel in the 1990s when he was in the legislature.

Meanwhile, the Wisconsin Department of Revenue announced that Jeff Lyon will move to its agency, where he'll serve as the new administrator of the department's State and Local Finance Division, effective immediately.

Lyon was serving as the DATCP deputy secretary until moving into the role of interim secretary upon Brancel's retirement in August.
