UW-Extension Holding BQA Certification Training in Gillett

Farmers who plan to sell cattle at auction in 2019 must undergo additional certification before the end of the year. According to the University of Wisconsin-Extension, Equity Cooperative Livestock Association was recently given notification from two significant cattle buyers that they would only purchase cattle from suppliers who were certified either through Beef Quality Assurance or Farmers Assuring Responsible Management program.

As a result, the UW-Extension is holding an in-person training for BQA on December 8 from 9 a.m. to noon at the Gillett Community Center in Gillett.

The cost for the program is $15. Pre-registration is preferred, but not mandatory.
