4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl, Management Contest Scheduled
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 11/25/2014

The Wisconsin 4-H Dairy Quiz Bowl contest will be held this winter at Portage High School in Portage. The competition takes place February 7. The cost to participate is $10 per team.

In the dairy bowl, contestants will answer a variety of questions about dairy cattle. All questions will come from the sources listed in the official dairy bowl rules. Teams compete in a double elimination format by giving oral answers to questions posed by the moderator. There will be three divisions; Junior, Senior and Mixed which may be composed of both Junior and Senior aged participants. Junior participants must be 4-H members up to age 13 on January 1, 2015 and Senior participants must be aged 14-18.

The winning Senior dairy bowl team will represent Wisconsin at the Invitational 4-H youth Dairy Bowl Contest at the North American International Livestock Exposition in Louisville, Kentucky.

The Dairy Management contest will be held on the same day as the Quiz Bowl Contest and is open to both Junior and Senior aged participants. The Junior Dairy Management contest will focus on dairy calf management while the Senior contest could have questions related to the entire dairy industry.

The winning Senior management team will represent Wisconsin at the All-American Junior Dairy Management Contest in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania.
