Paulsrud Crowned 2019 State Honey Queen

An Eau Claire County women will be creating a lot of buzz about the state's honey industry during the coming year. Sydnie Paulsrud of Eau Claire has been selected as the 2019 Wisconsin Honey Queen during the state honey association's annual convention.
Sydnie is a freshman at Chippewa Valley Technical College in Eau Claire, where she is majoring in childcare services. She will spend the next year promoting the beekeeping industry in Wisconsin.
As honey queen, Paulsrud will be available to speak with civic groups and appear at fairs, festivals, and farmers markets. She will also give presentations in schools about honeybees and the beekeeping industry.
In January 2020, she will represent Wisconsin at the American Honey Queen competition in Schaumberg, Illinois.
Meanwhile, last year's queen, Hannah Sjostrom of Maiden Rock, will compete for the national title next month in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina.
