Culver's Celebrates FFA Week with Treat Naming, Essay Contests
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/18/2020

One of Wisconsin's largest supporters of the FFA organization is celebrating National FFA Week with two unique promotions. Culver's is inviting customers to name its next new custard flavor by voting for two options on Facebook. And the restaurant chain is also holding another essay contest this year for high school students.

Culver's says the contests is part of its popular 'Thank You Farmers' project. Between February 22-28, guests can vote on whether the custard creation (made with Vanilla Fresh Frozen Custard, chunks of chewy brownies and ribbons of old fashioned salted caramel) should be called Mooey Gooey Brownie or Brownie Caramel Cow. The treat will then debut during the annual Scoops of Thanks Day on May 7, where proceeds from the fundraiser will go to local FFA chapters.

Members can also enter the 2020 FFA Essay Contest, where participants can submit an essay of 1,000 words or less about how a woman in agriculture has inspired them. The winner will receive up to $7,500 for their FFA chapter, with the chapters of the second and third place entries receiving $5,000 and $2,500, respectively.

"Agricultural education programs are essential in ensuring future generations are prepared to tackle the challenges facing our food supply and instill an appreciation for where their food comes from," said Culver's Marketing Manager Jessie Kreke. "We want to make sure students face no barriers, like cost, in receiving such an important education."
