Wisconsin Ag Connection - 02/27/2015

Seven Wisconsin companies were awarded a prestigious Wisconsin Manufacturer of the Year Award Thursday night at a black tie banquet honoring the 40 nominees. The Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery in Ellsworth was among the top recipients, as that firm earned the Marketplace Opportunity Award.

Founded in 1910, the company produces about 160,000 pounds of All Natural Premium Cheddar Cheese Curds each day. Ellsworth Cooperative Creamery accepts only farmer certified rBST free milk.

"Seven magnificent manufacturers were bestowed with a trophy this year, but we would like to pay our respects to each and every deserving nominee" said Tim Christen, CEO of Baker Tilly, one of the program sponsors. "In my opinion and the opinion of my fellow sponsors, each manufacturer nominated is a testament to the diversity, tenacity and success of this influential industry and our great state."

Celebrating its 27th year, the Manufacturer of the Year Award program recognizes manufacturers of all sizes and industries for all that they do to drive the Wisconsin economy.

Other award winning companies were HUSCO International, Inc., Waukesha; Seats, Inc., Reedsburg; Spectrum Industries, Inc., Chippewa Falls; General Plastics, Inc., Milwaukee; E.K. Machine Co., Fall River; and Universal Acoustic & Emission Technologies, Inc., Stoughton.
