Livestock & Genetics Export Seminar Planned for April
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/03/2015

The International Agribusiness Center at the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture will again host its Livestock and Genetics Export Seminar next month in Madison.

Organizers say Wisconsin farmers and genetics companies exported bovine semen valued at $90.8 million in 2014, so the market for these products is growing worldwide.

"This popular seminar will include presentations from respected industry professionals and cover many topics, including technical information needed to enter the export market," said DATCP's Enrique Gandara. "Exporters or those who want to start exporting will learn what they need to know to take advantage of market opportunities in new parts of the world."

The seminar is scheduled for April 8 from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel. Farmers and representatives from small- to medium-sized agribusinesses are encouraged to attend.

The material will be useful for experienced exporters or those new to exporting. Participants will learn about export strategies, gain an understanding of exporting regulatory requirements for exporting and network with industry professionals.

A $25 registration fee will cover materials and lunch.

The registration deadline is April 1. For more information or to sign-up, call 608-224-5113.
