Memorial Fund Established in Honor of Bethany Rieth
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/03/2016

The Wisconsin FFA Foundation announced it has established a memorial fund in the honor of Bethany L. Rieth, the former state FFA officer who passed away last month as the result of a skiing accident.

Rieth was a 2010 graduate of Oconto Falls High School and completed her degree in nursing from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 2015. Throughout her life, Bethany was involved in numerous school, athletic and service activities. In addition to serving as the Oconto County Fairest of the Fair, she volunteered for mission trips to Jamaica, Alaska and Cambodia. She also served as the State FFA Sentinel in 2012-13, where she touched the lives of countless Wisconsin FFA members, agricultural educators and alumni.

"Bethany had a heart devoted to the service of others," said Foundation Director Sara Schoenborn. "Losing her has had a tremendous impact on our FFA Family and it is our hope that this fund will help carry on her efforts of making a difference in the lives of others."

All contributions given to the Bethany L. Rieth Memorial Fund will support FFA community service projects at the local chapter level. Wisconsin FFA chapters will be eligible to apply for these funds to administer service projects in their local communities.

Her family said Bethany put love into everything she did. They say it is their hope that FFA members will be inspired to continue Bethany's legacy by serving others in their own communities.

Those wishing to donate to the fund can do so by going to: www.wisconsinffafoundation.org or by calling 608-831-5058.
