Red Cedar Watershed Conference Slated for March 12
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/04/2015

The Red Cedar Watershed Conference is being planned for next week in Menomonie. Organizers say the March 12 forum will be held at the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

The environmental health of the Red Cedar Watershed directly impacts economic development, farming profitability, water quality, recreation, tourism and property values in the region.

Keynote speakers from North Carolina, Minnesota and Wisconsin will address the conference.

"This year's Red Cedar conference offers farmers a chance to talk first-hand with one of the most respected soil health scientists in the county," said Wisconsin Farmers Union Director Tom Quinn. "Ray Archuleta knows his research, and he knows how to adopt that research into the real world situations and decisions that farmers face every day on their farms."

Quinn adds that the conference also allows both farmers and non-farmers a chance to see the world through each other's perspectives, and, most importantly, to experience their shared values.
