Alice in Dairyland Finalists Announced in Green County
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/18/2019

Five women have been selected to compete for the title of Wisconsin's 72nd Alice in Dairyland. During a candidate briefing forum in Green County on Friday, the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture informed the finalists about what the position entails and how to prepare for the finals event, which will be held in the county May 9-11.

"While the end destination is naming the 72nd Alice in Dairyland, the journey through the coming weeks is one in which each top candidate will gain from this professional development experience," said current Alice Kaitlyn Riley. "The various components of the extensive interview process allows each candidate to showcase communications and public relations skills required for being Wisconsin’s agricultural ambassador. The personal growth they will experience from this process will carry far into their future careers."

The 2019 Alice in Dairyland candidates include Sarah Achenbach, Eastman; Cassandra Krull, Lake Mills; Abigail Martin, Milton; Mariah Martin, Brooklyn; and Tess Zettle, Juda.

The public is welcome to attend various public events during the finals week in Green County, including the Finale Program on May 11 at the Monroe Middle School Auditorium. That selection program will also be Webcast live on Wisconsin Ag Connection, which is being sponsored by the Dairy Farmers of Wisconsin and Foremost Farms USA.

Alice in Dairyland is a full-time public relations professional employed by the DATCP Division of Agricultural Development for a one-year term.
