Bills Aim to Improve Health Care Access in Rural Wisconsin
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/16/2017
Members of the Rural Wisconsin Initiative formally introduced four legislative proposals on Wednesday to improve both access to and the quality of health care in rural Wisconsin.
The measures seek to fund training consortia for allied health professionals--such as physical therapists and certified nursing assistants, clinical training programs for advanced practice clinicians.
"Rural Wisconsin needs to maintain and grow its health care workforce," said Rep. Romaine Quinn of Rice Lake. "These bills will help ensure that people in rural areas continue to receive the high quality care for which Wisconsin is known."
The legislation will circulate for co-sponsorship through next week.
