WFU to Hold Spring Meetings in March and April
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/17/2017
The Wisconsin Farmers Unions will host its traditional Spring Meeting series with several gatherings planned around the state in the coming weeks. Farmers are encouraged to attend the forums, where a key focus will be on the state budget.
"The Spring Meetings are a good chance to connect with other farmers and get an update on what's happening in farm policy before we head back into the fields," said WFU President Darin Von Ruden. "With funding for rural initiatives in limbo, it's more
important than ever that farmers stay well-informed and have a voice in the ring for them; Wisconsin Farmers Union can be that voice."
Organizers say the meetings will offer time for networking and a complimentary meal, along with an update from Wisconsin Farmers Union staff on farm policy and issues facing rural Wisconsin.
The meetings will be held March 19 at the Emerald Town Hall in Emerald; March 20 at Hunger Task Force Farm in Franklin; April 3 at Blue Wave on the Bay in Ashland; and April 5 the UW-Agricultural Research Station in Marshfield.
There is no cost to attend, but pre-registration is requested. For more information or to RSVP, call 715-590-2130.
