PDPW Webinar Series Focuses on Weather's Impact on Ag
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 03/22/2017

The Professional Dairy Producers of Wisconsin will hold its next World-Class Webinar on weather and its impact on the farm markets. Eric Snodgrass, a senior atmospheric scientist, will facilitate the three-part series. He is the co-founder of Global Weather and Climate Logistics, LLC.

The first webinar will be held April 26, where Snodgrass will focus on the April and May weather that sets the tone for each growing season. He will discuss factors like winter and early spring weather, U.S. drought, temperature anomalies and precipitation patterns that can affect the start of the 2017 growing season.

The second program on May 17 will highlight the impact of weather change and particularly severe weather on a dairy farm. Participants will get a first-hand look at the best tools available to monitor and predict hail, straight-line winds, floods and tornadoes.

The final session, scheduled for June 14, looks at the long-range weather outlooks for July and August. Along with providing rain and temperature forecasts for the next 30 days, Snodgrass will assess the current progress of the growing season and look for stressors across the country that could impact grain prices moving forward.

Each of the presentations will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.

The cost to participate in the on-line interactive program for PDPW members is $100 per registered computer. Non-members can join in for $125. There is no limit to the number of people who wish to share one computer for the program.

Interested participants must have a high-speed Internet connection and must pre-register. For more information or to sign-up for the next PDPW Webinar series, call 800-947-7379 or go to: www.pdpw.org.
