JFC Removes Funding for Wind Power Research

The Joint Finance Committee has removed another one of Governor Scott Walker's proposed state budget items that relate to rural Wisconsin.
The budget-writing panel voted to cut $250,000 for a new study on the negative effects of wind power.
Walker had called for spending the money on a study to look at the effects of noise and shadow flicker on people who live near wind turbines, the Associated Press reported. But the JFC decided to have the Public Service Commission review existing studies, rather paying for new research.
Some have indicated that past studies on the effects of wind farms were inconclusive.
