Soldier Grove Company Recalling Cashew Products
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/26/2016

A Wisconsin-based food processor is voluntarily recalling its Cashew Crunch brand of nuts after its label failed to indicate it was processed with dairy products. Pleasant View Candies of Soldiers Grove said since the product was made using butter, they did not want to present a risk to consumers who may have an allergy or intolerance to such ingredients.

The Wisconsin Department of Agriculture says milk products can cause serious reactions in people with an allergy or severe sensitivity. No illnesses have been reported from consuming this product.

The Cashew Crunch was sold in 6 ounce clear plastic packages at Woodman's, Brennen's and Hy-vee stores in Madison on or before April 25, 2016.

DATCP notes that this is a Class II recall, which means that the product could cause temporary or medically reversible adverse health consequences or that the probability of serious adverse health consequences is remote.
