WALSAA to Celebrate 40th Anniversary with Impact Awards

The Wisconsin Agricultural and Life Sciences Alumni Association is turning 40 years old this year and is looking to celebrate by honoring those who helped make the program a success.

The group is now accepting nominations for its '40 in 40 Impact Awards,' which will go to people that have impacted the University of Wisconsin College of Agricultural and Life Sciences and its student body in the last 40 years.

Coordinators say they are looking for 40 individuals who have made a difference not only for CALS, Farm and Industry Short Course or WALSAA, but who have also worked diligently across farms, businesses, the life sciences, education, research, organizations within other arenas are being sought. Nominees must have made their impact anytime between 1972 and 2012 and can be nominated by themselves, others or in memoriam. Nominations will be accepted for individuals currently employed, retired or deceased.

Those selected to receive a 40 in 40 Impact Award will be recognized at the annual WALSAA Fire-Up event, to be held on September 15. The honorees will also be recognized through various WALSAA communications, CALS news channels and other media outlets.
