Pam Jahnke Honored with Friend of 4-H Award
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/28/2016

The Fabulous Farm Babe is being recognized for her efforts to promote and support the Wisconsin 4-H program. Madison Farm Broadcaster Pam Jahnke received the Friend of 4-H Award from the Wisconsin Association of Extension 4-H Youth Development Professionals at their annual conference in Wisconsin Dells.

The Friend of WAE4-HYDP Award is designed to honor individuals, organizations or businesses who have given substantial support to WAE4-HYDP at a multi-county or state level.

Jahnke was raised on her family's 200 acre dairy farm in Northeastern Wisconsin. As former 4-H and FFA member herself, she served as a 4-H camp counselor, was a dairy exhibitor in county fairs, and reigned as Oconto County's Dairy Queen.

During her broadcasting career, Pam has helped promote the work done in Extension both in 4-H and agriculture. She has also given her time and resources to help with programs such as Wisconsin Farm Technology Days, Ag Truths, Not Tails, and recently presented two seminars at the 2016 Wisconsin Joint Council of Extension Professionals Conference.

Also at the meeting, Bernie O'Rourke, Extension Youth Livestock Specialist, UW-Madison, Alissa Grenawalt, Extension Outreach Specialist, UW-Madison, were recognized for winning the Educational Technology Team Award. This award recognizes excellence use of technology in delivering or managing educational programs, expanding use of technology education in 4-H, or promoting logical problem-solving techniques using educational technologies.
