Former Farm Progress Days Host, Richard Leick, Dies
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 04/29/2016

The co-owner of the 1974 host farm for Wisconsin Farm Progress Days has passed away. Richard Leick of Stratford died Monday at an assisted living home in Marshfield at the age of 88.

A third generation farmer, Richard and his family developed Leick Bros. Farm, which brought over 100,000 visitors to Marathon County during the July farm show that year.

The 1974 WFPD left a huge legacy in Wisconsin's agricultural media industry, as the impact of the event led to the creation of the Agri-View farm newspaper and the Goetz Farm Radio Network--both of which were birthed in nearby Marshfield.

Funeral services for Richard Leick will be held Monday at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Stratford.
