Agricultural Clean Sweep Planned in Sheboygan County
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/08/2008

Sheboygan County's Household & Agricultural Clean Sweep program will give homeowners, farmers, and rural landowners the opportunity to dispose of hazardous waste, and out-dated, banned, or unwanted farm chemicals at no cost.

The special two-day collections will be held May 16 at Veolia Environmental Services in Sheboygan from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. and on May 17 at the Sheboygan County Highway Shop in Cascade from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m.

Funding for the collection program is being provided by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture.

The State Ag Clean Sweep Program began operating in 1990 as a pilot program in three counties and became a permanent statewide program in 1992. It is now a joint effort among Wisconsin counties and the Department of Agriculture to provide free or low cost hazardous waste collection for farmers and businesses.
