Adams County will host the 71st annual Alice in Dairyland Finals event in May 2018. State Agriculture Secretary Ben Brancel made the announcement Saturday during the Finale event for the selection of the 70th Alice in Dairyland at Lambeau Field in Brown County.
"This is a great opportunity for Adams County to showcase its contribution to Wisconsin agriculture, and we appreciate the county's enthusiasm for hosting the selection of the next Alice in Dairyland," Brancel said.
Agriculture provides more than 13 percent of the jobs in Adams County, and more than $171 million in economic activity. The area ranks among the top five counties in Wisconsin for the production of potatoes, sweet corn and snap beans. They are also nationally ranked in the top 25 for value of harvested vegetables.
A new Alice is selected each year from a group of finalists during a months-long public job interview.
Adams County will hold its finals activities on May 17-19, 2018.
