Farm Bureau's PAC Backs Jacque for State Senate
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 05/23/2018

The political action arm of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation is endorsing Rep. Andre Jacque in his bid for the open first Senate District seat in an upcoming special election.

The Volunteers for Agriculture Committee says Jacque, a Republican from De Pere, and businessman Alex Renard are competing to run against Democrat Caleb Frostman in the June 12 general election.

"Jacque has a strong knowledge of agricultural issues that impact Wisconsin's farmers and understands that overburdensome regulations can hinder farm families," said WFBF Senior Governmental Relations Director Rob Richard. "Our local farmers who interviewed the candidates recognized that Andre has a good record of supporting agriculture and is best suited to be a reliable voice for Wisconsin farm families in the State Senate."

A judge ordered Gov. Scott Walker to call a special election after Sen. Frank Lasee resigned from the post late last year to take a job with the state.

Jacque was elected to the legislature in 2010 to represent Wisconsin's second Assembly District. He was re-elected in 2012 and ran unopposed in 2014 and 2016.

Senate District 1 covers Door and Kewaunee Counties and portions of Brown, Calumet, Manitowoc and Outagamie Counties.
