Orders Still Being Taken for Farm Tech Days Toy Chopper
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 06/21/2012
The Outagamie County Farm Technology Days Promotions Committee is still taking orders for its collectable farm toy. This year, the Toy Tractor Committee is offering a 1/16th scale model of a 1974 6644 Max II Fox Self-propelled Chopper, one of the last models made by the Fox River Tractor Company
located in Appleton. The item will be packaged with a four-page brochure outlining the history of the Fox River Tractor Company.
The cost of the toy is $259.00 and can be picked up during next month's Wisconsin Farm Technology Days.
Fox Tractor was a manufacturer of tractors, blowers, choppers, municipal salt spreaders, wagons, stalk choppers, and their work-horse, the forage harvester. The firm is no longer in business.
Since 1994 Wisconsin Farm Technology Days has provided an opportunity for farm toy collectors to purchase limited edition special models of farm equipment, chosen by the host county each year. Only 1,000 pieces of the toy are manufactured for each show. The box bears the official Wisconsin Farm
Technology Days logo from that year, and in many cases, the logo is also located somewhere on the toy as well.
The show will be held July 17-19 at Sugar Creek Farms and Heideman Farms near New London.
