Hartmann-Breunig Chosen as New WAAE Director
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 01/21/2020

A long-time board member and former president of the Wisconsin FFA Alumni Association has been hired as the new director of the Wisconsin Association of Agricultural Educators. Kathy Hartmann-Breunig of Sauk City will oversee the day to day operations of the professional development organization for secondary and post-secondary instructors who teach agricultural-related curriculum.

"Kathy will bring a depth and breadth of experiences which will allow our organization to remain a visible part of the public education system in Wisconsin," said WAAE Board President Kris Beaver. "Her years of experience with marketing, finances, sales, running her own business and event planning will allow her to hit the ground running for WAAE."

Breunig and her husband, Tom, were in the floral business for nearly 25 years until recently selling the shop. She has also served on the executive board of her local FFA Alumni for many years and was as the state Alumni president in 2014.

"Servant leadership is a core belief of mine," she said. "Having the opportunity to serve the agricultural educators of Wisconsin is such an honor. We have to tell our story to the public to showcase the importance of agriculture education in every classroom."

Hartmann-Breunig will officially start her duties on February 1. She replaces Nicole Nelson, who is stepping down to pursue other opportunities in her local community.
