UW Crop Management Field Day Slated for Monday

The University of Wisconsin-Extension offices of Chippewa and Barron County will be hosting a Crop Management Field Day at two locations on June 27. The Chippewa County site is located at the UW-Extension Plots in Chippewa Falls from 10 a.m. to noon. The Barron County event will take place at the Al Schutz Farm near Dallas. The focus of the field meeting will be on current growing season topics, plant health, weed, disease, and insect management for the remainder of the growing season.

Speakers include Damon Smith, UW Extension Plant Pathologist; Bryan Jensen, UW-Extension Integrated Pest Management Coordinator; Richard Proost, UW-Extension Nutrient Pest Management Agronomist; Tyler Maier UW-Extension ANRE Intern, Tim Jergenson, Barron County UW-Extension Agent and Jerry Clark, Chippewa County UW-Extension Agent. Two CCA continuing education credits in Crop Management have been applied for. The UW-Extension plots are located on Commerce Parkway north of Chippewa Falls across from the Chippewa Veterinary Clinic.

There is no cost to attend. Registration is encouraged to plan for educational materials.
