State Fair to Hold UW-Extension Day on August 9
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 06/29/2016

University of Wisconsin-Extension educators from around the state will all be at the Wisconsin State Fair on August 9 for a day of fun and hands-on learning. The special event, which will be held from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., will feature a variety of Extension educational stations on the Central Mall at State Fair Park.

Fairgoers can check out interactive displays from every aspect of UW-Extension programming, including agriculture, technology, health, wildlife, nutrition, geology, water quality, libraries, invasive species, economic development, parenting, 4-H and youth development.

The public can also ask water quality questions to Groundwater Education Specialist Kevin Masarik from UW-Stevens Point, or learn how sausage gets made with Animal Science Professor Jeff Sindelar. You can explore rocks that are nearly as cool as the Hope Diamond, presented by the Wisconsin Geological and Natural History Survey. Or if you'd rather sit and take in a show, the Central Mall main stage will feature performances and demonstrations throughout the day.

UW-Extension offers timely access to University research and knowledge through educational colleagues in 72 county offices, on five campuses and within three tribal nations, offering educational programs that address the important issues of individuals, families, businesses and communities.
