Corn, Oat Prices Fall in May, Hay Mixed

The May 2015 average price received by farmers for corn in Wisconsin was $3.47 per bushel, according to the latest USDA Agricultural Prices report. This was down 26-cents from the April price and $1.25 less than May 2014.
The price of soybeans were at $9.40 per bushel, down 24-cents from April and $5.30 below the previous May.
Oats were $2.93 per bushel, about a dime below the April price and $1.59 lower than the same month a year ago.
All hay prices in Wisconsin averaged $124.00 per ton in May, up $11.00 from April, but $37.00 less than May 2014. The alfalfa hay price averaged $136.00 per ton in May, $12.00 above April, but down $39.00 from the previous April. The other hay price averaged $86.00, $7.00 above April but a decrease
of $29.00 from last year.
