Class III Milk Price Announced at $13.22

The USDA announced that the June Class III milk price was released at $13.22 per hundredweight. That was up 46-cents from May's price, but $3.50 below June 2015.

The Class III price has averaged $13.48 so far this year, which continues to trend at five-year lows.

Class IV component prices were 68-cents higher than last month's price at $13.77, but was 13-cents less than June of last year.

Meanwhile, the USDA reported that Wisconsin farmers received an average price of $14.70 per cwt for their milk in May--the lowest monthly price since March 2010. The U.S. milk price was $14.50 per cwt, 20 cents lower than Wisconsin's price and 50 cents below last month. All but one of the 23 major milk producing states had a decrease in price from April to May, with Virginia being the exception with no change in price.
