NFMC to Feature Live Safety Demos, Screenings at FTD
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/09/2018

The National Farm Medicine Center will be showing off its largest-ever safety demonstration during Wisconsin Farm Technology Days this week in Wood County. During the July 10-12 show near Marshfield, the group will team up with the Pittsville Fire Department, the Kentucky Department of Agriculture, Progressive Agriculture Safety Days, local FFA chapters and others in setting up live demonstrations in tractor rollovers, tractor rollover rescues, grain rescue, child safe play areas and interactive activities for older children.

The Marshfield Clinic-bsed NFMC will also provide an array of health services at the show, including free screenings for skin cancer, oral health, hearing, eyes and other health evaluations. The mobile mammography unit will also be onsite.

"One of the things visitors will see is how closely a health care system can be involved with rural health care, and in taking care of it agricultural community," said NFMC Scientist Casper Bendixsen, Ph.D. "That will be a really neat feature that we haven't seen at previous Farm Tech Days."

Both the Clinic and NFMC displays will be located near the center of Tent City. Show hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. each day.

Farm Technology Days is being hosted by D&B Sternweis Farms and Weber's Farm Store/Heiman Holsteins.
