Class III Milk Price Announced at $15.63

The June Class III milk price was released at $15.63 per hundredweight on Friday. That's up 40-cents from the month before, but $3.48 below year-ago levels. The 2012 average is now at $16.15.

The Class IV price was down 31-cents from last month at $13.24, and was $7.81 lower than last year's price for June.

Meanwhile, the weekly National Dairy Products Sales Report shows that the average block price for cheese was $1.63 for the week ending June 30. That's 1.2-cents than the the previous week. Barrels were up 4.1 cents to average $1.62 per pound. Butter increased 7.1 cents to $1.47. And dry whey was down 1.1 cents at 48.7 cents per pound.
