Barganz to Retire from ACCP Council After 14 Years
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 01/19/2018

Bruce Barganz of Jefferson is being honored as he steps down from the Agricultural Chemical Cleanup Council after 14 years of service. The six-member panel meets quarterly to advise the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture on its operation of the Agricultural Chemical Cleanup Program, which reimburses part of the costs of cleaning up fertilizer and pesticide spills or contamination.

As an employee of Insight FS, Barganz represented pesticide dealers and commercial applicators on the council. He will retire from the company in late-January, which makes him ineligible for council membership.

Over his years of service on the ACCP, the group advised program staff on nearly a thousand applications for reimbursement. The program has paid out more than $44.7 million in reimbursements for projects that helped protect Wisconsin's environment since its inception in 1993.

State Ag Secretary Sheila Harsdorf will appoint an interim member to complete Barganz's two-year term.
