Victim in Fatal Horse Accident Was Wearing Helmet
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/14/2017
The woman killed recently while riding her horse was wearing a helmet at the time of that mishap. That's according to newly released records by the Calumet County Medical Examiner.
The USA Today Wisconsin Network reports that Laura Van Asten, 20, of Darboy died in the accident at Mulberry Lane Farm in Hilbert on June 30.
Reports say she fell from the saddled horse after it took off and struck her head on a tree. County Medical Examiner Mike Klaeser says Van Asten rode the horse before without any issues.
Laura was working at the farm during the time of the accident.
