Seefeldt Elected to Lead WMMB Board

A dairy producer from Coleman was elected chairperson of the Wisconsin Milk Marketing Board. During the check-off's annual reorganization meeting this week, Connie Seefeldt was selected to lead the 25 member panel by her colleagues. She replaces Jay Stauffacher, who held the post for seven consecutive
terms.
Ed Jasurda of Phillips was elected vice chairperson, Steve Sternweis from Marshfield is the new secretary, and Stauffacher will serve as treasurer. Other executive committee members are Lanette Harsdorf, Beldenville, Communications Committee Chair; Dean Strauss, Sheboygan Falls, Channel Management
Committee Chair; and Kay Zwald, Hammond, Policy/Bylaw Committee Chair.
Meanwhile, board members also signed up to work on various committees. Members of the Communications Committee include Lanette Harsdorf, Chair, Mary Cook, Wilton;, Rosalie Geiger, Reedsville; Tina Hinchley, Cambridge; Ed Jasurda, Phillips; Sharon Laubscher, Wonewoc; Jay Stauffacher, Darlington;
Steve Sternweis, Marshfield; Jeff Strassburg, Wittenburg; Vivian Thompson, Cadott; Mary Wackershauser, Lancaster; and Kay Zwald, Hammond.
The Channel Management Committee members are Dean Strauss, Chair; David Bangart, Greenwood; Stacy Eberle, Monroe; Ken Heiman, Marshfield; Lyle Jensen, Amery; Patricia Kling, Taylor; Robert Letter, Seymour; Sarah Lloyd, Wisconsin Dells; John Pagel, Kewaunee; Ben Peterson, Grantsburg; David
Schmitz, Fond du Lac; and Judy Wubbenhorst, Westby.
And two directors were chosen to represent Wisconsin's dairy producers in other industry organizations. They include Jeff Strassburg, who was elected to serve as chair of the Center for Dairy Research liaison committee; and Jay Stauffacher, who will serve as WMMB's representative on the board of directors of
the United Dairy Industry Association.
The WMMB Board of Directors is comprised of 25 dairy producer-directors who set WMMB policies and procedures, supervise business affairs and approve annual budgets.
