Farm Bureau Announces More Primary Election Endorsements
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/22/2014

The Volunteers for Agriculture, which is the political action committee of the Wisconsin Farm Bureau, announced its final list of endorsements for the August 12 primary election.

WFBF Governmental Relations Director Paul Zimmerman says group's commitment to identify candidates that understand and support agricultural issues is to be commended.

"I'm very proud that local Farm Bureau members from these seven legislative districts interviewed the candidates in each of these open primary races," Zimmerman said. "I'm confident the endorsed candidates can win and will represent farmers with a strong voice in the state legislature."

The VFA endorsed two candidates for the State Senate, including Austin Scieszinski, a Democrat from Janesville in the 15th Senate District; and Van Wanggaard, a Racine Republican in District 21.

State Assembly endorsements include: Joel Kitchens (R-Sturgeon Bay) 1st Assembly District; Cody Horlacher (R-Mukwonago) 33rd Assembly District; Sheila DeForest (D-Beloit) 45th Assembly District; Jesse Kremer (R-Kewaskum) 59th Assembly District; and James Edming (R-Glen Flora) 87th Assembly District

The winners of the August primary will go on to run in the November general election.
