ConAgra Foods to Close Ripon Cookie Plant

ConAgra Foods has officially announced it will close its west production plant in Ripon this fall, resulting in the loss of about 285 local jobs.
The plant is a former Ripon Foods facility that made Ripon Good Cookies for many years. ConAgra purchased the property in 2013.
Word about the closing began to spread two months ago when the company said it was experiencing a slowdown in consumer demand. The job cuts will begin in mid-October.
A nearby factory that makes wafer cookies will continue to operate.
Employees have the option of applying for other open positions within ConAgra.
