Property Tax Payments Due August 1
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/26/2016

Wisconsin farmers and other land and property owners have until next Monday to pay the second half of their property taxes for 2015, if they haven't already done so in January.

Taxes must be mailed with the August 1 postmark or paid in person to avoid being delinquent. The deadline was pushed back by one day this year because July 31 falls on a weekend.

More information can be found on your tax slip or by calling your local county clerk's office.

The Wisconsin Taxpayers Alliance reported last year that total property taxes in Wisconsin fell by 2.3 percent to $9.32 billion in 2014-15. That was the first drop since 1996-97.

New figures for 2015-16 have not been released yet, but the agency reported last month that the Wisconsin Lottery program generated $155.6 million in 2015, which helped to reduce property taxes on residential properties.
