Wisconsin 4-H to Celebrate Its Centennial at Wisconsin State Fair
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 07/25/2014

Visitors to the Wisconsin State Fair can help celebrate a major milestone for one of the state's premier youth leadership organizations this year. August 5 has been designated as Wisconsin 4-H day at the fair. 4-H is turning 100 years old in the state in 2014 and attendees can help join in on the fun.

Since 1914, Wisconsin 4-H has helped youth grow the leadership, critical thinking and communications skills necessary to be successful in a constantly changing world. Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development will showcase the programs that help youth master these skills while celebrating its centennial at the state fair

Coordinators say fairgoers can try their hand at Wisconsin 4-H robotics, animal science, arts and more at activity stations staffed by Wisconsin 4-H Youth Development specialists, educators and volunteers. You can also enjoy performances by the Wisconsin 4-H Showcase Singers, 4-H Drama Company and county 4-H groups throughout the day.

4-H Day at the State Fair is also a great opportunity for members, volunteers, supporters and alumni to share a favorite 4-H memory with videographers or write a message on the graffiti wall. And be sure to visit the Central Mall at 2:00 for a rousing 4-H rally, and then join our group as we march from the Central Mall to join the State Fair parade.
