Wisconsinites, Culvers Among National FFA Honorees
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 08/14/2018

The National FFA Organization is making plans for its annual convention this fall in Indianapolis, where some of the group's top supporters will be among those recognized. Receiving a Distinguished Service Citation will be Culver Franchising System of Prairie Du Sac.

Culver's has been a key partner for the FFA for many years, both on the local and national levels. They also connect restaurants with local chapters so they can supply FFA jackets to students who cannot afford them. And the chain's 'Thank You Farmers' campaign raises money for the FFA, while creating awareness of family farming.

Also at the convention, agriculture teachers Glenn Sims of Mukwonago and Paul Larson from Freedom will be bestowed with VIP Citations. Carla Gunst of Pine River and Don Josko, who now lives in South Dakota, will be granted honorary membership, along with ag teachers DeWayne Fossum, Bloomer, and Dan. Ziegler, New Glaris.

The Honorary FFA Degree is the highest honor which the FFA can bestow on a non-member. Recipients are nominated by local chapters or by state and national FFA staff.

Meanwhile, Tom Dean of Racine will be retiring from the National FFA Foundation's sponsorship board.
