Blue Ribbon Sale Foundation Scholarship Winners Selected

The winners of the 2018 Governor's Blue Ribbon Livestock Auction Scholarships have been announced. Governor Scott Walker presented the 27 scholarship recipients with a certificate of recognition during last week's Wisconsin State Fair in West Allis.

A total of 30,000 in scholarships were given out during a presentation.

Top recipients receiving $2,000 include Claire Hawthorne, Westby; Ben Kronberg; Milton; Hannah Olson, Berlin; Emily Pintens, Dallas; and Hannah Tremaine, Oconomowoc.

Winners of $1,500 scholarships were Kauy Fargo, Barneveld; Natalee Lynd, Janesville; Lauren May, Mineral Point; Brady Meudt, Whitewater; Rachel Moseley, Osseo; and Jessica Noble, Burlington.

The $1,000 winners are Cole Chapman, Dalton; RaeAnna Johnston, Milltown; Madison Katzenberger, Monroe; Erica Kinnard, Menomonie; Grace Link, Deerfield and Taylor Schaefer, Franksville.

And earning $500 for their college education were Briana Arnold, Black Creek; Seth Bartlet, West Bend; Mariah Calkins, Sun Prairie; Jack Edwards, Colfax; Tyler Ellsworth, Elkhorn; Leona Meyer, Fredonia; Kassandra Palzkill, Mineral Point; Sarah Riemer, Mequon; Martina Schulz, Arpin and Auretta Wittkopf, Pewaukee.

Given on an annual basis, the recipients are recognized for their leadership skills, academic achievements, accomplishments as Wisconsin State Fair Junior Livestock exhibitors and potential as future contributors to the livestock industry. The awards are used to assist them with their educational expenses.
