'Cream of the Crop' Dairy Judging Event is September 22
Wisconsin Ag Connection - 08/21/2018

The eighth annual 'Cream of the Crop Dairy Challenge' will take place in Fort Atkinson next month. The competition will be held September 22 at the Hoard Historical Museum and National Dairy Shrine, with registration starting at 9:30 a.m.

Organizers say the contest is ideal for those preparing for World Dairy Expo judging, dairy quiz bowl, dairy jeopardy or have an interest in working with dairy cattle.

Teams will work together through eight classes covering registered and commercial heifers, sire selection and registered cows at Lundy Farms. Dairy cattle diseases, DHIA records, nutrition, and a 25 question written exam on dairy industry knowledge will be covered at the Hoard Museum.

This one-of-a-kind contest is designed to give youth the opportunity to hone their teamwork skills in a contest that incorporates all facets of the dairy business in a real-world forum that's interactive, educational, and fun.

A $20 team entry fee entitles youth to test their dairy knowledge, awards, and an all-you-can-eat Rocky Rococo pizza lunch.

For more information or to register, call 920) 563-6137. Space is limited to the first 30 teams that register.
