Wisconsin Ag Connection - 08/26/2015

Spring Valley-based Midwest Organic and Sustainable Education Service is getting over $310,000 in federal grant money to beginning farmers in better understanding basic farm financial management.

The funds have been awarded by the USDA's Beginning Farmer and Rancher Development Program which is focused on addressing the difficulties that new agricultural entrepreneurs face.

"I'm proud to see MOSES receive this funding so that they can continue to encourage and enhance opportunities for a new generation of Wisconsinites to take up farming and keep our rural communities thriving," said Congressman Ron Kind from La Crosse.

MOSES hold its annual conference in Wisconsin each year, which brings thousands of organic producers to the Badger State.
